Refund Policy

Who Handles Refunds?

Event organizers—not Ethical Tickets—manage all refunds. We act as an intermediary only. Since payments flow directly to organizers' Stripe accounts, they are responsible for issuing refunds.

Processing Fees

Stripe processing fees are non-refundable and will be deducted from any refund amount returned to customers. These fees include:

  • Stripe processing charges (1.4% + 20p for UK/EU; 2.9% + 20p for non-UK/EU)
  • Cannot be recovered or reimbursed

Organizer-Set Refund Policies

Each event organizer sets their own refund policy, which may include:

  • No refunds permitted
  • Refunds only if events are canceled or rescheduled
  • Time-limited refund windows (e.g., 2 weeks before event)
  • Partial refunds only

You can find the organizer's refund policy in your ticket confirmation email or on the event page.

How to Request a Refund

To request a refund:

  1. Check your ticket confirmation email for the organizer's contact details
  2. Contact the event organizer directly with:
    • Your proof of purchase
    • Your booking reference
    • Details about your refund request
  3. The organizer will process your request according to their refund policy

If Organizer is Unresponsive

If you cannot reach the event organizer, you can contact us at support@ethicaltickets.org. However, please note that:

  • We cannot mediate disputes between buyers and organizers
  • We may assist where possible, but cannot guarantee resolution
  • The organizer is ultimately responsible for all refund decisions

Canceled or Rescheduled Events

If an event is canceled or rescheduled:

  • The organizer is responsible for notifying you
  • The organizer must process refunds (minus non-refundable Stripe fees)
  • Check your ticket confirmation email for contact details

Important Limitations

Ethical Tickets:

  • Does not set refund policies for individual events
  • Cannot guarantee that refunds will be issued
  • Does not handle direct refund processing
  • Is not responsible for organizer non-compliance
